Wassup?! Welcome to my Caring Bridge site, your source for updates and information straight from the horse's mouth. Here's the deal: I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer on 1/3/24 and began chemotherapy on 1/19/24. This is an aggressive, faster growing, and rarer form of breast cancer. Due to this, everything is happening so fast! I'm focusing on making this site a space for me to share my journey. Some days these posts may include health updates and others maybe funny observations and blog-esque content. (You know I'm gonna find somewhere to make up a dance or find a wall to climb up). Keeping it real, keeping it me. Thank you to everyone for stopping by and for your support, it means so much < 3

Newest Update

Journal entry by Heather Hubert

How-dee there!

I'm sitting on the couch eating cheeseits watching tv with Chev and thought I'd write a little update:

I'm on my off week from treatment and it has been glorious. I feel much more like myself and it has given me so much positivity to get through my last treatments because if I feel like this now, I can't wait to be done with 'em. I participated in my first big dance event/audition this week :) I took three classes (jazz, contemporary, and commercial) and had a social afterwards. Looking forward to the connections I made during this event.

Chev and I spent the last couple days on the Oregon Coast with his family. We realized it was our first getaway of any kind since last October. I think we needed to spend time away from Portland and get some of that fresh salty air. Plus his mom's cooking is out of this world, we had surf & turf one night and a crab boil the next. Oh and Chev and I learned out to shuck our own oysters! I love oysters and champagne as a pairing so much. Right now I'm avoiding both uncooked foods and alcohol to be safe, but it was really fun to learn how to do this. I'm gonna have to get back to the coast come June and pound down a whole dozen!

Since my last post I started my next round of chemo drugs, Adriamycin (doxorubicin or the red devil) and cyclophosphamide. AC for short. This happens once every two weeks (dose dense) for three more cycles making my last treatment day *fingers crossed* June 4th.

What I'm looking forward to this month:
  • New rock climbing gym opening up in our neighborhood
  • Mini hikes and nicer weather
  • Another dance audition :)
  • Traveling back to MN for my garage sale fundraiser May 31-June 1
