Hello!!
Thought I’d jump on here & give an Update. I do these updates to keep family & friends on the same page but also for myself so some day when I am cancer free I can come back to this journal to remember all the details of this wild journey!!
Mom & I spent the day in St. Louis today. I haven’t felt good since last Saturday after disconnecting my chemo pump. I’ve been dragging, very weak, I’ve had a terrible pain in my right side around the liver area & well honestly I just down right have not felt good!! I finally sent a message to my oncologist yesterday late afternoon. They wanted me in the office this morning for him to see me, give me fluids & do more bloodwork. They ended up getting me in for scans today as well. Dr. Tan & my nurse Peggy were very concerned cause I’m usually not one to call or complain, so Dr. Tan said they were worried.
My bloodwork came back fine, actually my liver numbers were the best today they’ve been in a while. My CEA jumped a tiny bit from last week. They did give me steroids & fluids & then had a CT scan. The fluids & steroids definitely helped. I feel soooo much better this evening compared to how I felt this morning leaving. I honestly wasn’t sure I would be coming home today, I was really worried I would be admitted as bad as I felt.
The scans didn’t show anything that would be causing my pain in the liver. They seem to think it could be scar tissue giving me the pain from the liver ablation I had last month. If the pain continues I need to keep them posted. The scans did unfortunately show some growth in a couple lesions in my lungs. I will go back next Thursday for chemo hopefully & we will talk about the scans & our plan of attack to get these lesions to stop growing in my lungs.
Anyway, I’m hoping today’s trip over will have me back to 100% by the weekend!! Saturday our baseball boys will play for regional champs in the morning & that evening Kaden graduates from High School & then onto 5 or 6 parties to celebrate some Kaden’s classmates. Sunday another full day of celebrating more classmates. I can NOT believe the day is almost here & he’s really done at ACHS!! 😔 The years have FLOWN!!
Thank you for all the continued prayers!! They seriously mean sooo much!!
Much Love,
Heather 💙
