Welcome to Haddie’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportHey everyone, sorry for the long overdue update. Haddie is progressing excellently since her procedure and the CT scans continue to show the abscesses are shrinking. Haddie has been cleared to start taking antibiotics orally and they are planning on discharging her from the hospital next week (pending a physician/hospital being willing to take her case on when she gets back to the states)! She will continue to take oral anticoagulants because the jugular clots are still present (likely 2 more months of that treatment). Jillian and Lawson have been doing lots of great work in ironing out those details and navigating the logistics of this transfer while balancing the need for a high level of care upon arrival and the logistics of how she will be able to get to those appointments. As of now, she will stay with Jillian in the DC area and continue her treatments there. Still no concrete update regarding cost of transfer, flights, medical care, etc.
This might seem improbable and hard to believe, but our family suffered another tragedy and continues to need urgent prayer. A couple of days ago our Gram/Mimi (Sharon's mom) had a big stroke and declined quickly. She's been sent home to Callawassie Island with hospice care. I landed in NYC from Argentina this morning and will be driving to Beaufort as soon as I land to see her. Jillian, most of her kids, Lawson, and Isa will be driving from DC today to come see her, and I know the rest of my siblings and family will be scrambling to do the same. The estimation as of now is that we have less than two weeks left with her. Please pray for her husband, my Pappy (Papa Stew), and the rest of our family as we say goodbye to her. We have faith and believe that she will be united with Jesus and moments like this continue to remind me that this place is simply not our home.
