Hello everyone!
Greg here, It’s been a while since our last post.
Since not all of you are in everyday contact I thought I’d be good to post an update.
With that being said, I/we’re happy to report that all is going great.
It was May 18^th, 2021 when we got the surprise results from a scope that the cancer was gone.
Since then I’ve had three other follow up scopes, scans and MRI’s. All with Biopsies and all with no signs of the ”C” word. I feel great and have no symptoms of cancer.
I’m going on one year and three months in remission.
My oncologist told us that if I can go two years clean, it’d be very unlikely that cancer would return.
So big picture I guess I’m not out of the woods yet. But since they’re monitoring me so closely we’d be catching it at an extremely early stage if it tries to bare its ugly head again.
On that note, I’ve been fortunate to be involved with a newer early detection blood test called “Guardant Reveal.” It’s new technology that looks for cancer DNA in your blood and can detect it on a microscopic level. This is important for patients like me that are in remission, but still have a possibility of cancer returning. Guardant would be able to catch it before any scans ever could.
With this new technology and being closely monitored by Karmanos and of course all your support and prayers, I feel real good moving forward in my life.
My next scheduled scans aren’t until the end of September so I’ll most likely check back in and post those results.
