ROOD, George Ashley. September 16, 1936 – December 10, 2022
 
Survived by loving wife, Paula Rood of Omaha; children, Mary Lu (John) Long of Lincoln, John (Cindee) Rood of Los Angeles; grandsons, Jack (Ashlyn Drews) and Luke Long, Trent and Duke Rood; great-grandson, Drew; sister, Mary Helen Billiard; sailing crew, Jan Churchill.
 
Sailor, husband, father, papa, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, Episcopalian, Omahan, Manawan, Houstonian, engineer, executive, farmers’ son, volunteer, donor, instructor, Air Force veteran, Kansas State University Wildcat, Delta Tau Delta brother, prayer groupie, cancer victor, Enron survivor, pickleballer, skier, hoopster, Royals fan, handyman, skipper. 
 
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 17th at 3:00 p.m. at George & Paula’s beloved parish All Saints Episcopal Church, 9302 Blondo. If symptoms, weather, etc. keep you from attending responsibly, please feel free to contact the family to arrange alternate connection. A Celebration of Life will be held next summer at Lake Manawa.
