Journal entry by Mary Kivi —
Gene suffered a massive stroke early in the morning on May 1, 2018. He had emergency surgery soon after arriving at the hospital. He is in critical condition and is in the ICU and heavily sedated. Unfortunately, on 5/3/18 he began seizure activity so he is sedation medication was increased and they have to date not been able to wean him off the sedation medication. He has significant paralysis and at this time we do not know the extent of the damage since he is sedated. It is a day by day situation and will remain that way for some time.
I am thankful for the support I am getting it is very much appreciated. I also want to focus on the positive and what Gene and I were planning and that this a delay of a unknown time length.
I appreciate all the prayers
