Journal entry by Christie O'Neal —
Remember how last time I wrote about Mom starting a trial on 5/31? That didn't happen. She got notification the week before she was supposed to start that the trial had closed, and we all got back on the emotional roller coaster of trying waiting to figure out what the next steps would be.
The good news is she started a new treatment here in Beaufort on 5/31. This is one of the two approved drugs for her specific type of cancer, and it is called Amivantamab. The first treatment lasted most of the day Tuesday and a lot of yesterday, and Mom will continue to have weekly treatments from now until the end of June. After that, the treatments will happen every two weeks.
Please be in prayer that this treatment is successful and that side effects are at a minimum.
