"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." -2 Corinthians 4:17-18

On Sunday, October 18, 2020, Frank James Sepanik, 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Grandville, Mich., after a brief but hard-fought battle with brain cancer (Glioblastoma). Frank was surrounded by family and friends as he went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother, Frank was born on May 8, 1957, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Edward and Sarah (Manning) Sepanik. He was a 1975 graduate of Godwin Heights High School and on Aug. 27, 1983, Frank married his high school sweetheart, Jeanine Cherie Sepanik (Poirier).

Frank had a lifelong passion for baseball, which included playing pick-up games with friends at local parking lots or baseball fields, as well as playing and sharing his APBA Baseball dice game. As a senior, he led the Wolverines to the 1975 MHSAA Class B State Championship. Frank also attended the 1984 World Series to cheer on his beloved Detroit Tigers and was a participant of the 1989 Detroit Tigers Fantasy Camp in Lakeland, Fla. He was known for his strong Faith in the Lord, unwavering dedication to his family, radiant smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Frank was also an avid Christian music lover and truly gifted chef, always eager to prepare a meal.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Frank is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jeanine; sons, Zachary (Brittany), Joshua (Maddie); daughter, Sarah; grandchildren, Skyler, Shiloh, Kallen; brothers, Ed (Joanne), Mike (Janet); sister, Sandy; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and family too numerous to list, but not forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts made in memory of Frank be designated for Brain Cancer Research at the Mayo Clinic. Checks can be made out directly to May
o Clinic and can be mailed to: Mayo Clinic, Department of Development, 200 First Street SW, Rochester, MN 55905. Gifts can also be made with a credit card by phone at 855-852-8129 (from 9 am – 6 pm EDT) or at https://philanthropy.mayoclinic.org/donatemc.
