Everett’s Story

Site created on November 2, 2023

This site is due to when first one was giving us problems. This is a while into the start of his relapsed Neuroblastoma (a while into 2023).

We had technical difficulties with our first Caringbridge&made this one. We use this one for journal, GoFundMe, and Meal Train.  But the first one(below) the journal part is sometimes working and has Everett's full journey there: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/burroughsfamily

But will be updating through this one y'all are reading here.

After a hellish Saturday and Sunday Everett defeated, and is free of, cancer by going home to be with Jesus Sunday April 21 at 11:13am.

However, Everett is an old soul, the BEST kiddo, friend, and son to us.. that anyone could ever be blessed to have in their lives.♥️♥️♥️He is a gift. As we have been told from a wise physician, "Everett is beyond incredible." He is an unexpected surprise in our lives-we weren't trying to have children when we found out we were pregnant with him.  He is the BEST! And we miss him so so so very much...heartbroken over him being gone and the deep hatred toward sin&cancer doesn't cut it...but, as we told him, time in heaven is different: he will only wait but seconds and we will be there with him, that we-him, Greg, his sister Esther, other lil sibling, and I--are always together by heart because of Jesus. He's up there playing with them, helping folks, and I'm sure is in charge of all of the turtles.

There are so many more feelings, descriptions of all the awful pain and agony from last week and weekend, and still a few tender moments from Thursday, that happened leading up to his passing.... But sharing that is too personal here and words can not describe our heartbreaking sorrow over all that has happened, nor the gratitude that Everett is finally playing and better with Jesus&siblings and that we will be with him again, or the overwhelming pain of our loss of him for the rest of our time here on earth.  But I do know that he wants us to love Jesus&others and live life to the fullest like he did. That, in Christ's strength, we will do.

Everett's Celebration of Life Service is on Sunday 4/28/24@3pm @ Calvary Chapel of Lexington, 1156 Barr Rd Lexington SC 29072.

Also, thank you all for everything. We seriously couldn't have gone through these past three years without Jesus&y'all.
