Bloody nose, tingly toes + everything in between.

#9 in the books.

I'm still getting the restless legs during treatment, which still stop right after the treatment is done.  Other than what has become the normal pattern of joint/bone/muscle pain and fatigue Sun-Tues/Wed; I've had a slew of other side effects, none of which have been dangerous or devastating, just annoying.   I've had a lot of bloody noses and a lot of sinus congestion and drainage - which is mostly blood when blowing my nose.   This is a common side effect as the lining of my sinuses are dry and irritated as a result of the chemotherapy.  I was advised to use a moisturizing saline spray.  I have been doing this regularly but haven't noticed too much of an improvement.  I have also been spending a lot more time outside which is likely not helping due to increased pollen and allergens in the air.  I've had a small amount of neuropathy - one of the main side effects of Taxol.  So far it's been just the tips of my toes on my right foot upon getting up in the morning.   It goes away fairly quickly and doesn't usually bother me during the day. I have developed "Taxol rash" on my face and left arm just above my elbow.  This is thickening of the skin where it also becomes raised/bumpy and develops white acne like pustules. I was given a prescription for Clindamycin lotion today, hopefully that helps. I am also apparently turning into a giraffe - having developed reticulation of the skin of my back; which I'm told is just venous changes under the skin.  It is harmless, I can't feel it and wouldn't have even known it was there if Dustin didn't say anything about it last weekend.  I have developed sun sensitivities from the medications - which is OK as I have also developed some heat sensitivity as well.  As the doctor said today- this will not be my summer to get a tan.  My normal sun loving self has donned a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen when going out doors.  We use a pop-up canopy when dock diving and we are looking at getting a retractable awning for outside the house.
Chemo brain is a real thing.  Some times I feel like I've had a stroke - words are hard.   This morning I couldn't think of the word "graphic" when trying to describe a graphic t-shirt.  This afternoon we were sitting outside with the dogs and Dustin said it was hot out.  I said "that's because you have on jeans and feet".    Yes.  He has feet. Two of them to be exact.  I was trying to refer to his shoes and socks. 😂   I will often get up to do something a completely forget what I got up for.   Awhile back I had sent my oldest a video of how to clean out your dryer vent - you know, useful information for a young adult to know when moving into a new apartment.  The response was something along the lines of "Yeah, I know how to clean dryer vents, number 5 cause of house fires".   Me forgetting that said child literally cleans vents for a living....
My hemoglobin is holding steady, 10.6 today (Normal 12.0-16.0) and platelets were also normal.  My doctor has seemed to be very impressed with my numbers. Super Bone Marrow!
Last week was a busy week. Wednesday our youngest got rid of braces!  Then we went to brunch for my birthday and went and painted pottery while we were waiting for retainers to be made.  Friday I had OT - continued improvement and go one last time June 14th to make sure the Taxol isn't causing any unwanted swelling.  I do still have cording under my arm, however, it is not currently causing pain or restricting range of motion. This could come back after radiation, but we will just play it by ear.   If it does come back I will resume weekly OT to get it under control again.   I even go to go to lunch with my husband and my Sasha last Friday 😘
This week was exciting with the weather.  A tornado touched down in Red Oak on Tuesday. I of course was at home so got the pups and kiddo to the basement; which I'm an Iowan and never do ...so you know it was close.  HA!   Dustin was at work, mere blocks from where it touched down. Thankfully  everyone is OK and we did not get any damage, which some of our neighboring towns can not say.
We just keep on keeping on around here - about all you can do.  It's been a roller coaster for sure. The entire process and experience has been completely wild to me.
