After treatment is completed this coming Thursday I'll be halfway done with chemo. Whoop Whoop!
I was told Taxol is generally better tolerated than Doxorubicin - I can neither confirm or deny this statement.   Overall I think it's been better, although there isn't as much time between the infusions to "bounce back".    Thursday is treatment day.  I'm usually pretty tired during treatment due to the IV Benadryl I'm given.  I have also been getting some pretty bad restless legs during treatment - which goes away as soon as the infusion is done, it's the weirdest thing.   Fridays have been OK - I'm usually on a steroid high from the IV Dexamethasone.  Saturdays have overall been my best day.  By Sunday afternoon/early evening I start sounding like a bowl of rice krispies- everything starts popping and joints and muscles start aching, especially in my shoulders, wrists, knees and femurs.  Monday-Wednesday afternoon I'm pretty sore and tired, Monday being the worst and slowly getting better over the next 2 days. Then Thursday is treatment day and it starts all over again.  Overall the joint and muscle pain isn't as severe as it was with the Neulasta injections, but still there and no less annoying.  I just remind myself that it's my super bone marrow working and my body is doing what it needs to do to regenerate.

The weather has been nice - when it's not raining.  We were lucky and weren't effected by the tornadoes here, although they were too close for my liking.  Over the weekend I was able to get to Lincoln to participate in the first dock diving event of the season.   Hazel did great, setting a new personal best on Sunday, 11'9".  I knew I'd pay for having a busy weekend - and like clockwork on Sunday afternoon I started getting achy and sore on the way home and ended up spending the majority of the day in bed Monday.  It was worth being able to get outdoors and do something "normal". Hazel also had a ball.  I was worried how she would react to the other dogs after the dog attack in November. She showed no hesitation. She didn't do her best jumps on Saturday, but by Sunday she was excited and ready to go. Dustin is currently working on building a deck platform to put her pool on here at home - so once that's completed we won't have a dry dog until it comes down in the fall. 😆
