Journal

When I was really, really down the other evening, I found this post Eric made after his first brain surgery.
It shows him right after the surgery and it says: "Staples after my surgery to remove a tumor a month ago. I really developed a new love for life. I still have to fight cancer but I've never been more appreciative of every single day that I wake up to see my wife, son, and family. Thank you God for this extra time."
What Eric was so grateful for is what we all have RIGHT NOW. We are living every single day with loved ones surrounding us. It made me realize that even though my heart aches more than I can say, I really need to try to live the best that I can, and be grateful for it. Thank you God for my time here on earth. I promise to make the most of it, for me, for Eric, for our son, for our loved ones still here on earth, for anyone that I can help or have a connection with in my lifetime. For God.
Please reach out to me if I can help answer any of your questions or concerns about GBM or caregiving in any way. Or even just about anything at all. My email address is: carolyntentis@gmail.com

Just know that this invisible monster called brain cancer is very different for everyone, no 2 treatment paths work the same for each person. But overall, the optimism you need to get through it all, the Hope and the Faith... that all comes from the same source of strength, from up above. And I'm happy to share anything that I possibly can if you are reading this and are here searching for anything that might help your or a loved one's circumstance. Don't hesitate to reach out. Not many have to walk this path of a warrior, but those that do have a bond of understanding what it takes to keep going. To keep pushing yourself to fight. Your battle is not alone...
