Visitation and funeral arrangements have been made for Dorrice. We all miss her greatly but are thankful she went to be with the Lord and is no longer suffering. Arrangements from Auble-Gillman Funeral Home are listed below.

Smithville -- Dorrice M. Beery, age 29, of Smithville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family early on Saturday morning, January 9, 2021, at her parents’ home, following a 2-month battle with Angiosarcoma, a rare form of cancer.

Dorrice was born on May 16, 1991, in Cleveland, Ohio, and at the age of 3 was adopted into the family of Dwaine and Shelly (Riggenbach) Beery. She attended Heritage Private School and ultimately graduated from the Wayne County Schools Career Center. For the last several years, she was taking college courses from the University of Akron - Wayne College, with the plan to earn a degree in Exercise Science.

She worked as a server at the City Square Steakhouse in Wooster, a job which she truly loved. She also worked at Planet Fitness in Wooster, and at the Heartland Point Cafe in Orrville.

Growing up, Dorrice attended the Smithville Apostolic Christian Church, and had recently been attending Living Water Church in Dalton. Prior to her cancer diagnosis, she would spend hours at the gym exercising, a hobby which she genuinely loved. She also enjoyed taking classes in college, working, and most of all spending time with her friends and family.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are four sisters, Sharnise Beery of Columbus, Mariah (Cole) Rudy of Smithville, Katrina (John) Tilton of Smithville, and Heather Beery of Smithville; three brothers, Andrew Beery of Copley, Nathan Beery of Smithville, and Dillon Pridemore of Smithville; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Eileen Beery of Smithville; and numerous friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Glenn and Lou Riggenbach, and a younger brother, Deandre.

Friends may call from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, January 11, 2021, at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman, or from 9:30 am - 10:15 am on Tuesday morning at the church.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, at Smithville Apostolic Christian Church, 8530 Fulton Rd., Sterling, with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Cemetery in Rittman.

Visitors are asked to wear masks, practice social distancing, and adhere to posted signs and spacing limitations. Seating may be limited.

Auble-Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman is handling the arrangements. Online registry and expressions of condolence may be made at www.gillmanfuneralhome.com.
