Sign In to Show Your SupportMom was moved from the neuro unit at Abbott and into inpatient rehab Courage Kenney located at Abbott.
This is where she will spend the next 3-4 weeks working hard with physical and occupational therapy to gain back her strength and transition her into her new normal. They will be working 3-4 hours a day with therapies so this should be great.
Although we are excited for her to start this journey and see her get back to a more normal life there are some downfalls for mom. Abbott was allowing one visitor per day during visiting hours. Courage Kenney is a little more strict and only allows one visitor for her entire 3-4 week stay. This means only one family member will get to be present to support her through this journey. The rest of us will have to be cheering her on from afar. Although we are all pretty bummed about this, the social worker has assured us that they will be keeping her very busy to make sure she can reach her goals as fast as possible.
She now has a phone in her room to be able to talk on the phone as she pleases and we will also be sending a lab top there so we can set up zoom/Skype calls so she can still get to see her grand babies and other family while she is there. If anyone is interested reach out to one of her daughters (myself, Ashley, daylynn, gracie) and we can help coordinate getting a video call set up for her.
as always, thanks for the continued love and support. Although she’s not been able to thank everyone herself. She appreciates it!
