Journal entry by Hannah Cole

A quick word from Hannah before we get to mom's note. I cannot say thank you enough to our friends and family. Thank you all for loving on my mom and for getting our entire family through an unanticipated and difficult time.

Mom's birthday is today. I noticed she didn't mention it below :-) So feel free to offer birthday wishes on this post. I'll make sure she sees them.

Mom also sent some photos of her with the boys on their new swing set and posing with Beni.

Love,

-Hannah (and family)

Dear family and friends,

It’s been two months now since my last radiation and I’m glad to say that after recovering from some intense burns my skin has healed and I am feeling well. I’ve heard the words “cancer free” from my oncologist and I rejoice! I will have occasional appointments to monitor my health and keep track of things like estrogen and bone density because I’m taking a drug that affects those things.

At this point my desire is to regain my strength by walking, riding my bike and eating a healthy diet. I’m still struggling with fatigue and at times lack of motivation so please pray for me along those lines.
The Lord has been so tender and faithful to me through all of this.  At times I feel quite vulnerable and unprepared to “do life” but I know full recovery will take a while.

Thank you all so much for your texts, calls, meals, visits, cards but most of all for your prayers! I also want to say a special thank you in honor of my husband Mike who has been a source of great strength for me during this journey with cancer. He has served me completely, listened to my fears and questions, prayed with me for guidance and I’m so thankful that we have been on the same page with all the decisions that had to be made.  Also, I thank Hannah for making it possible for family and friends to hear what’s going on with me and help with meals and all the other wonderful love gifts I’ve received.

Unless something unforeseen happens I don’t anticipate any more posts. Your concern and willingness to “keep up” with me is a kindness I will never forget!

Blessings to all,
Diane
