Journal entry by Diane Fairclough —
Finished my Radiation Therapy last Friday. In contrast with my first experience I was like going from the dark ages to modern times. The staff and my docs were wonderful (always knew my name, asked about what I would do over the weekend, if there was anything they could do for me).
The picture below show the 'mask' that kept my head in the exact position. The treatment took about 2 1/2 songs. With my request of Hawaiian favorites and a warm blanket, I imagined I was in Kauai. After the last time I got to ring the bell. Side effects have been (are) fatigue, dry mouth and a bitter taste. The later is the worse for me as absolutely everything tastes awful so I really have to force myself to eat; managing pretty well as I have only lost 4 lbs. Hopefully I will start to feel my self in a couple of weeks.
