It is with great sadness in my heart to share the news of Dick's passing on Wednesday, December 30th just as the sun was setting and there was an alpenglow on Mendicant Ridge above the ranch.   He was at home as he wished and surrounded by his family's love and support.  It was a fitting and peaceful ending of his life's journey.

At his request there will not be a memorial service.   Next summer we will have a private family "celebration of his life" at our cabin above the ranch.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either:

Crawford Fire Protection District No. 5  at P.O. Box  230, Crawford, CO  81415.   

Dick was a volunteer fireman with the Aspen Fire Department during our years in Aspen.  Upon moving to Crawford he served on the Board of the Crawford Fire Protection District;  or

Delta County Memorial Hospital Foundation/Grand Mesa Oncology Support  at: ttps://www.dcmhfoundation.org/donate        

Since his diagnosis at University of Colorado Medical Center (UCMC) in June, 2019, he was able to continue his care and chemotherapy treatments locally at the Grand Mesa Oncology Clinic returning to UCMC for occasional follow up appointments.  The care and support he received from the nurses and staff here  was outstanding  and compassionate.  They were not only our doctors and nurses they became our friends and champions as Dick bravely waged his battle against leukemia over the past 18 months.   

Thank you all for your support and comforting words during Dick's journey.  May 2021 be a Happy and Healthy New Year for all.
