• Thursday, May 16    Dick has an ECHO (check his heart function) and PET scan (check                                    Oncologist calls with notice that heart function has decreased markedly; stop Chemo.
• Friday, May 17        Oncologist appointment - this must be due to chemo; not many options left; she                                           will investigate; Cancer spot slightly larger but not concerning right now
• Monday, May 20      Cardiologist and Oncologist confer; he doesn't see a big change; compares February                                  and May tests and sees them as similar. They want Dick to see a cardiology                                  oncologist specializing in reactions to chemo.
• Tuesday, May 21      Cardiologist orders a cardiac MRI and sends Dick for bloodwork.
• Thursday, May 23    Doctors have Dick re-start Chemo. 
•                              He will have the cardiac MRI hopefully within the next 2 weeks.

What originally appeared as a huge Obstacle now seems a huge Opportunity to give thanks to God. 

Dick feels good, and surprised the nurse at rehab with the high level he was at on the exercise machine. He gets tired and unbalanced but naps are good. 😊                                           

He's able to do simple mowing on our property, was able to go to the Kentucky Derby Party (and win a little horse), was able to keep up with multiple grandchildren's sporting events in Ohio last month and is looking forward to visiting our Colorado kids soon.

His calendar on May 16th had one of his favorite verses on it: I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. Jeremiah 31:3

And yesterday we read this encouragement: He Who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

May the Lord give you the grace to see the Obstacles in your life as Opportunities for God to take over. His ways truly are the very best!
