Journal entry by Debbie Hansen —
Dear Friends,
It’s been a while since I’ve written an update! However, I have good news that I am excited to share. Insurance approved me for a six-month PetScan (good news right there). I had the scan Wednesday and saw my oncologist for results yesterday. She is really pleased because there has been no change in any of my tumors – my condition is stable.
Because my tumors showed significant reductions on my last scan three months ago, I thought this was a disappointing result, but she was adamant that it is not. As long as there’s no growth, it’s good news. In fact, she is especially pleased my condition is stable because she reduced the dosage of one of my medications to protect my kidney function and white blood cell count, and this shows that the medication is still effective.
So, it looks like this will be my pattern for the immediate future: a scan every three months. My anxiety was pretty high in the days leading up to this one and I really appreciate those of who were aware of it and praying for me. Next time I will post to all of you when it’s approaching!!
In general, I feel pretty well – just tired sometimes - and hopefully I can begin to make plans for my life that are a little more creative than playing online games and binge-watching tv (although I’ve seen some great shows :)
Thank you all for surrounding me with so much love and hope. It means more than you can possibly know. And if I can be praying for anything in your life, please let me know. Love - Debbie
