Good afternoon,

We have a new treatment plan in place….per the Drs recommendation Dave did not get his Chemo today. He is still very depleted and losing weight. So he was given some IV fluids today.  Dr.T said that the first 3-4 cycles of the chemo are the most beneficial at tumor shrinkage. And since that has already proven to have helped, Dave will now start Radiation and a smaller dose of Chemo in a pill form. Still waiting to hear back when this will start, we are hopeful for next week. 

What will this look like? Dave will have radiation 5days in a row for 5 weeks straight. Plus he will be taking a smaller dosage of Chemo in a pill form. Dr.T recommends going this route as we are trying to be the most effective while still trying to maintain quality of life.

Dave also tested positive for a Gut infection so he is now starting meds for that…it’s never ending….but we are hopeful that the radiation will not deplete Dave as much as the Chemo has and he will get more energy back.
