On Tuesday, Dana had her first session on the "Zero G" where they strap her into e harness connected to an overhead lift. She then "walked" multiple times around their internal track (see her Facebook page for short video). This was different from the Cyberdyne in that there was no external device aiding her movement. It felt great and she loved it.
Later that day, we drove to St. Augustine to find the area where we could drive on the beach. Unfortunately, we would have needed a 4 x 4 (not just all wheel drive), so that didn't work. We noticed a lengthy pier off in the distance and were able to get out to the end of the pier. We watched two father's and their sons enjoying an afternoon of fishing. We went back in and Dana hung out in the shade by the kiddie pool and read her book, while I enjoyed a stroll along the beach. Another beautiful day.
Last night we met our friend Karen who lives in St. Augustine for dinner at this restaurant located at their small regional airport. We always share a few laughs with Karen, and last night was no exception. Karen and I were co-workers at Gerber Alley (hospital information systems) in Atlanta.
At 1:45 today, Dana has an appointment with JAX Spine and Pain as she continues her search for relief. Pray that this would be the answer.
