Journal entry by jack darnell

Well our move takes on a new reality for us each day.  Yesterday we had lunch in Ft. Myers with our good friends Michael and Becky.  We then went over to see their new apartment.  They're actually going to help us by buying our lanai furniture.  They've used it almost as much as we have when they used to visit us on weekends.  Very sad to say goodbye, but we know we will see them again.

Later that day we went to Culver's for an ice cream with Bill and Maria.  They are dear Christian friends who live right here in our neighborhood.  We all laid hands on Dana and prayed for restoration of her feet and legs.

Last Friday, because the dealer was only offering a very low trade-in value for our BMW X3, we decided to try to sell it privately.  Has to happen in the next eight days.... prayers please.  We ended up taking an Uber over to Coral Gables (a suburb of Miami) to purchase our new Golf R.  Very different from my Miata, but I'm getting used to her.  It does have all wheel drive (for snowy winters in PA), and it is a hatchback which easily accommodates her wheelchair.

Last Saturday I played tennis with my group for the last time, and tonight I played poker with my poker buds for the last time.  Parting is such sweet sorrow.

Dana continues to work hard at her physical therapy.  Hope you've all had a chance to see her using the walker to take a few steps. Very encouraging.  She has had two acupuncture sessions last week and will have two more this week.  So far no visible improvement, we'll see.

Today I spent an hour on the phone with a representative from Allied Van Lines going through each room to determine what is going and what is not, and what items we'll be packing.

We continue to covet your prayers as their are still so many pieces that have to come together.  You know, we have moved six times since we've been married (42 years next month), so hopefully this will be our last.
