Today Dame finally got the results of his last scan from the Dr (before it was just what we read off his MyChart).
The chemo worked, so DAME IS CANCER FREE!!! He still needs to be monitored for the next three years. He will be monitored by scans and appointments. The schedule for that is as follows:
Year one- he goes every 2 months
Year two- every 3 months
Year three- every 6 months
On the last scan they did see what they called lung disease from the chemotherapy or pneumonia. It's either or. The Dr prescribed him some steroids to help with it. He'll get another CT scan in a couple months to confirm if it's healing (if it was pneumonia) or an actual long term lung condition/disease (which came from chemotherapy damaging his lungs).
Dame will be off work through June. He needs to get himself healed up and healthy enough to be able to be around others safely and he needs to get his strength back as the chemotherapy was really hard on him.
