Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Before Christmas, Damian had surgery to remove a body part because the surgeon said it was highly likely to be cancerous. The surgeon said they didn't do biopsies on said organ beforehand. Instead, they would remove it as a whole and then biopsy. He also said that once it was removed, everything should be fine and that Dame would go on normally, cancer free. They did the biopsy on the organ and found it was a very aggressive form of cancer. Not what the doctor was originally thinking. Because of that, the doctor wanted him to get more scans done of other areas to make sure it didn't spread before they had a chance to remove it. Within 4 hours of having scans, they called to tell him that he (likely) has stage 3 lung cancer as the masses have started going into his lymph nodes. They are doing more bloodwork, and he is getting set up with oncology to start treatment. We will update as we find out. Visit this site to continue to be updated.
