Dear Faithful Prayer Warriors,

Sometimes the yellow brick road leads you home to your family, and sometimes it leads you home to the Lord. It is with great sadness that we relay the news that our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Dale Lisa, gained her angel wings this morning at 9:45 AM. It brings us solace to know that she has been reunited with her parents, Bev and Joe, her great-niece, baby Maeve, and many other loved ones we’ve lost along the way.

Dale’s motto was #FightLikeAGirl, and she did not disappoint; she fought with everything she had until the very end. We knew a few weeks ago that Dale had relapsed, and that she was in for an even harder battle. She returned to Albany to re-start chemo, which took a heavy toll on her health. Additionally, her condition required that she spend long hours each day at the hospital receiving blood and platelets. Despite these new challenges, each and every one of her faithful prayer warriors gave her the strength to continue carrying on.

In the end, Dale did not let cancer win; she contracted a serious form of pneumonia that her weakened immune system was unable to fight off. The care team in the ICU at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY kept Dale comfortable in her final days, while simultaneously providing her family with much-needed support. We will forever appreciate their care, kindness, and compassion.

We consider it a blessing from God that He afforded us the opportunity to gather loved ones from near and far to be by Dale’s side during this difficult time. It brings us comfort to know that Dale received a final blessing from her spiritual mentor and friend, Father James Walsh from St. Pius X in Loudonville, NY.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for the constant prayers, well wishes, and support that you provided to Dale. We are grateful to those who brought joy to her throughout her life.

As faithful prayer warriors, rest assured that your prayers have been answered; although it is not the ending that we wanted, Dale is no longer suffering. She is at peace, and we will see her again… Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

~

"Over The Rainbow"

Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh, why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh, why can't I?
