Cohen passed the 100 day mark on March 2nd and then her due date came on March 5th. And then she went from heated high flow (HHF) 4L to 3L and now 2L.
Being on 2L means that Cohen finally got to take her first bottle. It will take some coordination because she is 3.5 months old and has never had a bottle. We gave her her first bottle on March 12 and she drank 6mL. At first we were concerned that she didn’t have the endurance to make it thru 20 minutes of bottle feeding, but she not only stayed awake thru her bottle but for 3 hours afterwards and was a very crabby girl that night. She will continue to get food in her feeding tube until she can drink 100% of her food in a bottle.
Physical therapy came to screen Cohen for motor delays as she was born at 25 weeks and the size of a 21 weeker to see what help she may need after she leaves the NICU. Cohen continues to amaze us because she scored 1 point higher than a baby born at 36 weeks.
