Today I had follow up appointments with both my radiation oncologist and my regular oncologist. Although I have developed some burns on my chest since radiation ended (which are NOT comfortable 😜) the oncologist assured me that they are totally normal and actually look “really good”, all things considered. Who knew?! 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

After that I saw the Oncologist who went over the next steps in the process which are centered on meds, shots, and infusions targeted at preventing cancer recurrence in the future. We also discussed lifestyle things I can do to help decrease the risk of recurrence, so I’ll obviously be doing all I can in that area also! ☺️ I will be starting daily oral meds and a monthly shot that are going to stop my production of estrogen (bc my tumor was estrogen and progesterone fed) and will put me into menopause - with all the potential side effects that comes with - fun fun 😉. I will also be getting infusions every six months to help keep up my bone density as the estrogen reducing meds can reduce your bone strength, and this bone med has also need shown to reduce recurrence - so hey, the more the merrier! 😜 My Oncologist says I’ll be on the hormone blockers for at least 5 years, maybe 10, so the journey will be long, but it will be worth it to avoid recurrence ☺️

The best part of today was that my Oncologist said that as of today, there is NO EVIDENCE OF DISEASE!!! After almost ten months of treatment, innumerable doctor visits, chemo, surgery, radiation, and so much more - there is no indication I have cancer! I’ve won! And I believe, and choose to speak into existence, that it will not return! 🩷

Thank you to everyone that has supported me on this journey. I truly have felt so loved and held during this time, and continue to felt that way. I’ll never be able to fully express my gratitude, but please know, I’ll be forever grateful. Please keep sending me the good vibes - I definitely will still take them 😉🥰

Love to you all,
Claire
