Chatrice had a follow-up appointment with her oncologist today to discuss her MRI results. Understandably, nerves were high leading up to this visit, as it was well-known that her cancer was progressing rapidly.

Her oncologist remarked that Chatrice has truly defied the odds since her ICU discharge and Cardiac Arrest, a time when many doctors doubted she would survive long after entering hospice care. She was also pleasantly surprised by how much functionality Chatrice still has despite the tumor progression.

Once Chatrice is cleared, she will resume cancer treatment with a medication she was on before her cardiac arrest, along with a second anti-cancer medication to manage side effects. This is encouraging news, as it allows Chatrice to continue her fight to stay with her family. However, this treatment does come with risks. Due to her impaired heart function following the cardiac arrest, Chatrice will need regular echocardiogram visits to monitor her heart activity.

Chatrice has shown incredible determination in her battle against this disease no matter how much it has taken over her life.  She refuses to back down and we will continue to support her as much as possible.
