Sign In to Show Your SupportHi Friends,
It's been a few weeks since our last update. Overall, our family's transition out of the bubble and into the maintenance phase is going well. It's feels wonderful, but also a bit weird and unfamiliar, navigating the real world again. "Maintenance" treatment will continue for a couple of years but is much less intensive than the past nine months (thankfully!! I pray that none of you ever find yourselves on this journey) and we will be going to clinic much less frequently moving forward.
Callan is working with a personal trainer here in Hudson and is eager to regain his strength, energy, hair, and overall functioning. He doesn't have any restrictions other than to listen to his body, use plenty of sunscreen, and rest as needed during this recovery process. Being sedentary, feeling pretty crummy, and tolerating many rounds of chemo and related meds for the past nine months have taken a toll on him physically. It will take some time, but he is determined to keep up with his friends again. Re-integrating socially takes some time too...our heartfelt thanks to all the friends who continue to invite and include Callan (and us) in all the "normal" stuff 12-year-olds love to do, including just hanging out. We are all really looking forward to connecting and becoming more active in the weeks and months ahead.
As always, thank you for your ongoing prayers and positive notes. Your love and support has been instrumental and is very welcome as we continue this journey forward to full health and recovery!
