Journal

Before I begin, can I ask you to pray for Ryan and his family? He’s a young man just a hair older than Caleb that’s been dealing with bone cancer for the last year, and things are not looking good. The family is preparing to end their time with him on this side of heaven. Please cover them in prayer.

The last couple weeks have been a whirlwind as we’ve tried to step into the fundraising mode. The whirlwind has been watching God move in so many ways, both to support Caleb and to give others an opportunity to step into their own passions and help on the effort.

First, thank you for all the support you’ve provided over the last several years, between praying at a moments notice, hearing our own weakness and brokenness at times, and celebrating the big wins!

I wanted to give you an update on some of how we’ve seen God working to make getting Caleb to Hope4Cancer possible.
  1. Because we’ve had so many people who have been so generous, we have what’s needed to get him to the clinic. This was phase 1 of the journey.
  2. All of the details are falling into place at exactly the right time. For instance, we got emails tonight that our passports should be here on Thursday.
  3. Caleb’s oncology team continues to work alongside us and support the effort to get him to this clinic.
  4. There is amble support for Kim as Caleb and I head out for nearly a month. This part is HUGE!
  5. Caleb is starting to get excited about the trip. We keep reminding him that the point is help turn the page on what has become a cycle and start the rest of his life.
  6. God continues to be glorified through so many interactions and conversations!
I love the verse our friend put on the tshirt. It’s John 9:3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”
