Buffy has had some small setbacks this week, unfortunately. She started her new cdk4 inhibitor drug last week — Verzenio. She’s been progressively getting sicker with her digestive system each round. Last night it peaked and she was really really sick (just know we didn’t get much sleep throughout the night). She had a scheduled follow up appointment with OSU today so they discussed in office all the issues and what her oncologist thought was the best course of treatment. They have paused her oral medicine for the remainder of this week to give her body time to heal and will resume treatment next Monday on a lower dose of the cdk4 drug to see how that works. Due to dehydration, they opted to give her a liter of fluids in the office/infusion center today. She returns for another follow up on June 11th. The stomach pain and digestive issues have flared back up tonight with dinner so we’re keeping a close eye on her. I think it’s going to take a while for everything to heal and calm down.
On a positive note, the knee injection is doing well and pain has lessened. She was able to walk the bike path in full with us Monday evening.
Please continue to keep her in your prayers and on your church prayer lists as well as the rest of our family ❤️
