Mom reminded me I have not updated you guys on treatment #5 so here yall go (so I don't get kicked out of the family 😂).

Monday May 6th mom & I went to have treatment #5. She got to spend some time talking to some old friends while we waited & she enjoyed that alot! We had a slow start due to some miscommunication between departments about what bloodwork mom had done when we arrived, but after alot of work trying to get her port to work right she FINALLY was able to start her treatments! Mom's platelet counts were back up to where they should be which is a blessing 🙌  (they had dipped a little low last week). They checked her magnesium and that was a little low this time, but her potassium was back to normal this time so it seems they are just taking turns being low 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ what do ya do? Mom is not the most patient person on the planet (I know she seems like it to the outside world but I promise you she has NO PATIENCE) so Monday was hard on her, but I was proud of her for keeping it together and not losing it on anyone at the doctors office. I only had to talk her down a couple times. Honestly between her and her sister Terri I had to do quite a bit of negotiating on Monday to get their patience under control.. It must run in the family 🤔 (they will kill me when they read this)! Overall once treatment was over and mom was able to get her favorite steak n shake meal she was much better!
Mom had an appointment with Dr. Gian May 1st to check up on how things are going so far and he seemed pleased with her progress. He told her the recent CT that she had shows that both spots (left breast and lymphnode) have gotten smaller. He said the spot on her lung has not changed in size and that is what he expected. The spot on the lung is benign as of now, but he is watching it very closely! Praise the Lord that both spots that are cancer have gotten smaller! 🙏 The prayers are working and we all are so thankful for each of your prayers. You guys will NEVER know how thankful we are. Mom is blessed to have so many wonderful people who think enough of her to add her to their prayer lists! If you like to pray for specifics here is a list as of right now:
  • The two spots that are cancer will disappear completely and nothing new will appear
  • The spot on her lung will disappear and she will not have to worry with that again
  • Side effects to be minimal this go around from treatment #5
  • Bloodwork stays good enough to have chemo #6 on time so surgery can happen on July 8th.
  • That mom gets to enjoy her beach trip at the end of this month without side effects (because she deserves it)
  • That her echo will be good on May 15th
If you are feeling extra generous with your prayers Ed could use some too. He is having some blood pressure issues and if you know him you know he isn't not a good patient. Mom has her hands full. Which means Devan and I REALLY have our hands full with the both of them! 🤦‍♀️😂
