Brian’s Story

Site created on February 11, 2024

We truly appreciate your care and concern for Brian Weatherby during this challenging time. As some of you may already know, Brian received a diagnosis of stomach cancer in February 2024. It was a shock to all of us, especially considering he initially sought medical attention for what seemed like a minor issue.

Given the love and care many of you have for Brian and Donna, we are using Caring Bridge to help keep everyone updated. This page will help prevent the Weatherbys from feeling inundated with countless texts and phone calls. Please consider joining this page for regular updates on Brian's condition.

Your continued prayers and well wishes mean the world to Brian and Donna. Thank you for walking with us!

Journal entry by Denise Cabe

This week has been quite a journey for Brian and Donna, filled with appointments and decisions regarding treatment. While they approach each step with a mix of joy and anticipation, there's also a tinge of anxiety. Nevertheless, their faith remains steadfast as they trust God's provision of grace and strength daily.

Brian's recent urology appointment brought some much-needed good news. His CT Scan showed positive results, marking the successful removal of the nephrostomy. It's truly a reason for gratitude to see things back functioning as they should. Although Brian still has a stent for a bit longer, the plan is set for its removal on Friday, April 12th.

The successful removal of the kidney stone marks a significant milestone in Brian's journey towards chemo and immunotherapy. Yesterday (Tuesday), he embarked on the next phase with the commencement of immunotherapy treatment and the first round of chemo.

As we keep Brian and Donna in our thoughts and prayers, let's lift them up with confidence. May Brian experience minimal reactions to the chemo and any potential side effects of the immunotherapy.

Your support, prayers, and love mean the world to Brian and Donna. Thank you for being a source of encouragement and strength for them. Let's continue to pray fervently for their well-being.
