Journal

It’s been awhile since we provided an update.  So, here it is….

Brian completed chemotherapy in November with ZERO side effects!  After 5 months of the strongest chemotherapy they can administer, the 15 INCH mass on his lung had gone down to 2 CENTIMETERS!!!!  The bone cancer throughout his body had also greatly shrunk.  He had scans in December and was declared “in remission!!!!”  He has continued Immunotherapy throughout also with no side effects.

He was able to return to practicing law and finally having a sense of purpose again!  His February scans also showed him still in remission!  His oncologist was blown away!!!!

On Thursday he went for his routine scans.  Our world stopped turning within minutes.  The cancer had spread throughout his body with 2 new spots on his liver and the bone metastasis significant.  But the worse news was that it had reached his brain.  We feared the worse and spent an agonizing weekend waiting to see our oncologist Monday.  He was able to tell us the spots on his brain were VERY tiny, but he would need radiation immediately.  And then start chemotherapy again.

Radiation Oncologist Consult today.  We sat there with tears fearing the worst…..And then an unexpected turn!  The doctor looked at us and said, “I can’t treat this.  It’s too small.  Your spots are nearly invisible.  If we radiate them now we would kill healthy brain cells (yes, he has them…LMAO).  We need them to grow.”  Me:  (with a dumbfounded look) “Excuse me???”  We want his brain cancer to grow???”  He replied yes….we need to scan again in 4 weeks and hopefully they will be 6mm which is perfect to begin effective radiation.  In the meantime he will start chemotherapy so we don’t waste time on the other cancers.

We are beyond grateful to have the most incredible team.  They caught this so fast….it was too fast.  We continue to fight the beast and the beast will continue to lose.

But always….we need your prayers!!!  He has beat every odd and will continue to fight for that.  We love all of your support!  We are so incredibly blessed by prayers, support, and knowing we have a village behind us.  We don’t forget that or take it for granted ever!  You are all a part of his fight….and with you, he keeps winning!
