Another twist in an excruciating year. 

We went to a routine doctor's appointment Monday and the doctor couldn't find a heartbeat. Three hours and a more sophisticated hospital ultrasound later, it was confirmed:

We lost the baby. 

Our baby boy. We had named him Silas Martin Hofmann. 

We'd just seen him moving three weeks before.

We are devastated, heartbroken, tired of this roller coaster. 
We are grateful for the months we got to steward this baby's life and growth.
And we can't imagine walking through this without the hope of heaven.

I'll have a medical procedure early tomorrow morning to bring closure to my body. If you know, you know: the physical healing is the easiest part of this process.
