As I am typing this entry, I am listening to Ben sing. It is the most beautiful sound to this momma's ears.  For though I now have a trained eye on how to identify low hemoglobin, acute pain, and reduced  neutrophils or WBC counts, the true indicator of Ben's mental and physical well being is if he is singing. The nurses on P4 regularly commented on this when they entered the room. Ben is preparing to attend the Ithaca graduation ceremony as a member of the band.  Congratulations to the Class of 2024! I have no doubt incredible things are in your future. Go forth and be amazing humans!  Ben has now officially completed his junior year. It has certainly been an emotional rollercoaster, but we are so grateful for this moment in time when Ben is happy and excited for his future.  Hope is a beautiful thing.  We pray for continued good health and reassuring news in the coming weeks and months.  I am particularly grateful for Ben's current state given earlier this weekend was agonizingly difficult. We lost an incredible family friend, fellow cancer warrior, avid Ben supporter, and an all around genuinely good person.  It was so very hard to say goodbye and also very difficult to process why such things happen.    It was a beautiful Celebration of Life yesterday and though  none of us are privy to answer why,  we are reminded that faith is essential even in dark, scary times. Perhaps even more so.  Heaven has a beautiful angel now.  Until we meet again, Arlene.   Please pray for Brian, Tyson and all of her family and friends during this difficult time.  This week Ben will have follow up lab work as well as a meeting with Ithaca school officials to ensure he is on track for graduation next year.  Please continue to keep Ben in your prayers.   Pray for peace, strength, and healing.  God Bless.
