Sign In to Show Your SupportRound 3 is officially done and Abe made it home Tuesday afternoon. He has enjoyed the excitement of the last days of school and spending some much needed time with his friends. He is very ready for summer, as we all are, and for the pool to open up. I am mourning his baseball season, he has always loved playing, it will be hard not seeing him on a team this summer.
His counts were consistently rising before he left and we will continue to do blood draws and appointments while he is home. He has been putting some weight back on and filling out (weighed 120 before getting sick, 100 at diagnosis, and up to 130 now), just shows how much everything is working. Not sure on a return date yet, but assuming he'll be here for about 12 days before starting round 4. He has 5 rounds total, and the goal is to be done before the fair and football season (fingers crossed). He is feeling great, we are trying to keep him from overexerting himself too much, lots of normal 13 yr old life really takes its toll after a few days.
We are enjoying our time at home together, just being normal, or at least as normal as a family of 6 can be. Life is busy, but we prefer being busy all under the same roof.
Enjoy the sunshine!
Leslie
