Tayen is truly a little warrior. To start, Tayen is feeling like his old self again after being sick from his UTI. They found out that the bacteria he had was Gram negative. This is a very serious bacteria that if not caught and treated quickly, could lead to sepsis. Thankfully doctors were on top of their game and his urine cultures have all come back negative for anymore bacteria. He also had a kidney ultrasound today to make sure things were looking good there after his UTI and everything looked great!

Additionally, Tayen was able to get off of his CPAP. He now just has a nasal cannula that he is receiving his oxygen assistance from. They are slowly trying to wean him off but some days are better than others. He will get there though! It’s been so amazing to see his beautiful face everyday without all of the head gear!

Tayen was able to start back on his feedings and he is starting to become a chunky little guy! He has been gaining quite a bit of weight everyday. He even passed 3 lbs and is now at a whopping 3 lbs 11 oz!! Tayen’s next goal is for him to start preparing for oral feedings!

Tayen had to have another blood transfusion today because his hemoglobin was back down. This could be what is causing him to have more frequent desats again. Doctors aren’t sure where all of this blood is disappearing to so they will start doing some more investigating on this.
