As we wrapped up our latest trip to the cities. I'm happy to report an almost perfect visit!
Neurologist is super happy with the ETV (endoscopic procedure) and that it’s doing what it needs to be doing. We can follow up with them in 3 months with another MRI, we will continue to do this until March 2024, and from there it’ll turn to every 6 months as long as Owen is showing all good signs. YAY!
We then had a NICU follow up, they want to make sure his skills are at the correct age he is at. He passed that test. Another YAY!
Now on to the family jewels.. we’ve known that his testes have not being in the correct spot for a little while. They were hoping they would drop correctly as he got a little older. Unfortunately they haven’t & we followed up with an ultrasound on 8/1 with results leading towards surgery. We will likely to be headed to the cities in September with surgery in October. The procedure is more common & his is related to his Spina Bifida as his lesion is L2 which is bowels.
Alongside of all this, he is a determined little guy and motivated to walk. We are currently working on getting him a walker & soon he’ll be running.
Overall, we are optimistic and know that there will be hurdles along the way. But, grateful to have the knowledge and availability of our Doctors when issues arise.
Love always,
Doug, Becca and Owen
