Sooooo much in so little time….where do I even begin??

Daycare/therapies are still moving and grooving. She started feeding therapy to help with her oral intake and learn to eat different textures and it has been going pretty decent. Most sessions she’s eager to try something and others she’s not interested. It has been a struggle for me to see her gag and the therapist still pushes her to eat. I’ll be the first to admit when she gags or throws up, I’m quick to cancel but what I’ve learned throughout this is that Abby is resilient and also smart. So allowing her to end her food session when she gags is never a good thing. Her therapist reminded me that Abby occasionally does that to get out of eating and she knows I’ll let her stop which again isn’t good. Let’s just say feeding therapy has been an eye opener for us both.

OMG I don’t even wanna type this but ……ya girl got accepted into PreK and will begin in September. Yes, in July I’ll have a 4 year old and in September she’ll be attending big kid school. Getting into this program was kinda stressful but it’s chosen by lottery. But the amazing this is that now that she’s in the program, we’re in until she graduates. More to come on that but we’re off to big kid school. I may do a wishlist for Abby once we find out more info about it but we’ll see.

Health wise….in the next few months there will be plenty moving pieces regarding her health, all which are beneficial to her. Before you ask, no I have no clue when her trach will be removed. Yes she can attend school if it’s still in along with her feeding tube. CMS will provide a nurse for her while she’s at school. Yes we have a nurse at home but I don’t want her attending school with Abby. When Abby gets in a mood (doesn’t want to do something/listen), she will go straight “baby” on you and I know if I send her regular nurse and Abby doesn’t want to participate in class, she’ll run to her nurse so I’m putting a stop to that.

I’m sure I’m missing something but this is all I can think of LOL.
