Angel’s Story

Site created on February 10, 2024

Life can change in a blink.

In September, Angel began having some pain in her chest. After seeing the doctor a few times over a couple months, only to have the pain continue to be unexplained and increasing, Kevin insisted on a trip to the ER (not something Angel agrees to easily, so he added her sister's Julee & Tracy to the pressure squad and finally had our friend Jen, who works at the ER give him her work schedule so he could remove any excuses she could find.)

Through some advocacy, a test was ordered, which brought back surprising results. The CT revealed several masses throughout Angel's body. In her liver, intestines and metastasized to her sternum and back. This was serious.

After an MRI, biopsy of the liver, and blood work it has become clear that the cancer is aggressive, spreading quickly, and was almost caught too late. We are grateful for almost!

There are still tests to be done and treatment plans to create. We are waiting and praying for expedited tests to shape the scope of urgent treatment. Thursday, 2/8, Angel and Kevin learned that without treatment, the timeline would be weeks to maybe months.

BUT with treatment we are hoping to harvest more time. Time to BE together. Time for treatments to advance. Time to experience God in new and deeper ways than we ever have before and find the strength for the journey.

So the fight is ON! We are asking you to battle alongside us. This page will be a place to stay up to date on the journey, to learn about specific prayer requests and even discover specific ways to help if you feel led.

Angel & Kevin are beyond grateful for their community and are confident of a few things, WE HAVE A BIG BIG GOD who is able. AND they have a community of people who are extravagant in their kindness. They would love to respond personally to every inquiry and word of encouragement, but they will not always be able to do that. Just know your love and support are a blessing, a treasure, and a direct expression of Jesus' loving arms wrapped around them.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Chris Montrose

Angel is home and resting. She had one last round of IV antibiotics at the hospital and was cleared to go home.  A longer update will be coming soon. For now, keep those prayers and good thoughts coming.
