Angela Thompson Witkowsky passed on January 03, 2021. Angela remained in a critical state following a stroke which resulted in an anoxic brain injury. She was admitted to the hospital on the morning of December 31st. After exploring every option for a reasonable recovery, the decision was made in accordance with the guidance of her living will. The family honored Angela’s wishes to withdraw her from life-prolonging procedures, artificially prolonging the dying process and allowing for her merciful passage while providing for her immediate comfort and alleviation of pain.

In loving memory, let us remember Angela, the loving and faithful wife of Brian; proud and caring mother of Alina and Ava; cherished daughter of Bob and Connie Ruth; revered sister of Scott and Katrina; and the beloved member of the extended Thompson and Witkowsky families. She was loved and faithfully loyal to so many that have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to call her a friend and a sister. Adored beyond words, she is embraced as intelligent, selfless, beaming with life and passion, and as a woman who has touched so many lives with her love, brilliance, hospitality, and service. She always was able to find a way to make everyone around her feel bigger and is more than an example of life and love. Angela was an organ donor and in her final act of generosity and selflessness, she provided what she, her family, and her friends hope can be a precious gift of life for others in their times of need. May her beauty, brilliance and compassion of mind, body, and spirit continue to empower those whom she leaves behind and be embodied in the lives of those blessed to receive her special gifts.

Angela and her family have been positively overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, prayers, thoughts, memories, and support during this difficult time. Angela’s immediate family celebrated her life with an intimate, chaplain led, ceremony in her room prior to her passing. In accordance with Angela’s desire to reduce the risk of the spread of the COVID-19 virus, a celebration of life will be postponed until a date and time to be determined when the conditions provide the appropriate level of public safety. Angela’s family asks that in lieu of flowers and gifts, donations be provided under her name to any of the following charities:
FedEx Family House https://www.fedexfamilyhouse.org
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis https://rmhc-memphis.org
The Michael Scott Learning Center in Stevenson, Alabama https://www.michaelscottlearningcenter.com
The Mid South Food Bank https://www.midsouthfoodbank.org
