We’ve had a lot happen since Sunday. You are all updated if you have Facebook. I forgot about caringbridge and I have friends who don’t have fb.
I was getting ready for church but ended up calling 911 after almost blacking out and Deron took my BP which was 79 over 48.
I had an mri and unfortunately the left tumor in my cerebellum has grown.
Wording from mri:
Anterior left cerebellum, today measuring 3.0 x 2.7 x 2.1 cm in AP, TV, CC dimensions, previously 1.4 x 1.8 x 1.4 cm on prior MRI of 4/17/2024. Increased diffusion restriction of this lesion.
That’s substantial growth but we don’t know why I had low BP (Maybe the Lords intervention so I could get an mri before my next scheduled one in June.) but after laying down my BP went back to normal and I was sent home.
Today we went to Anschutz and I’ve consulted with my Doctor at Duke. They all agree on getting me started an another chemo called ivosidenib. It’s not harsh. It doesn’t have too many side effects but I have an IDH1 mutation and this drug has been known to kill this type of cancer.
(I don’t know why my font size changed. Ugh!!)
I’m also going to continue Avastin infusions every two weeks as long as my BP does okay and my kidneys can handle it. Next step is to meet with my radiologist Dr. petit to see if he can radiate the new tumors. If the area hasn’t had radiation yet I think it’s an option.
Thank you for your prayers!!!! I truly feel the prayers working.
I’m so sorry for the font size!
Love,
Amy
