Amy’s Story

Site created on November 8, 2020

2014 I was diagnosed with a cancer. I was diagnosed with brainstem Glioma that melted away by the hand of God. Now I’ve been battling cancer again since 2020. The cancer is back but a little lower in my cervical spine. We need another miracle! I had the new tumor radiated and I’ve been on chemo most of the past 3 years but it has not stopped growing. I have lost a lot of muscle in the right side of my body. I walk with a Walker and a leg brace. I am unable to hold my camera so I cannot work and many other things are slowing being taken away. I cannot wash my hair. I cannot cut my own food, eat with my right hand and my hand writing is no king legible.

Currently my Doctor is at Duke University Cancer center in North Carolina. Dr. Henry Friedman. Deron and I fly out to NC every 8 weeks after I get my MRI done of my brain and entire spine.
Currently I go to my local cancer center every other week for an infusion of a drug called Avastin which is supposed to shrink my blood vessels and shrink the tumor. I also take chemo every day. I just started taking Etoposide which is more aggressive that the Temador that I have been taking for two years.
Yesterday (8/14/23) I started HBO. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. I will be in the HBO 40 sessions, 5 days a week for 2 hours. The doctors do not know if it will help stop the tumor but it may help me with my muscle loss.
I have done a lot of research on cancer and so I eat a KETO diet and I take many supplements.

Journal entry by Amy Feist

I did not sleep last night and this morning I have a terrible sore throat from the tube they had down my throat during surgery.

Good news is that I can go home today!!!  I’ll need to figure out what to take for the pain and then we can go home.   Im really happy about this. I prayed so hard to not be in the hospital like last time.

When I was taken back to the surgery room. They (about 5 people) were prepping me and we had a few laughs and right before they put me out I announced,  “So many people are praying for all of you! “. Surprisingly I heard this overwhelming Awe, thank you and yay!   So thank you for praying for me and them!  We all appreciated it!!! 🩷🩷🩷
