We just wanted to take the time to update everyone on the latest developement in Amelia’s care and journey home to the Lord. On Monday March 11th we reconvened with the doctors who were involved in Baby Amelia’s care in order to discuss the pathology results of the tumor that was removed from her brain. It was established that the tumor was of a hyper aggressive, malignant type. The cancer that was responsible for the tumor was an extremely rare type that was first reported in the year 2000 and since then has had under 50 reported cases. The cancer also possessed hybrid characteristics of other rare cancers that also were extremely aggressive which is what caused it to be so damaging to her.  Due to the hyper aggressive nature of the cancer the doctors unanimously agreed that the tumor was most likely only present for a short time so she was not living in pain. This type of cancer along with the other characteristics that were present has an almost certain lethality rate even without taking into account her age.
