It has been awhile since the caring bridge was updated, but I promise it was worth the wait! Allison’s 12^th and last chemo treatment in this first round was supposed to be completed on February 18^th, but due to Snowmageddon 2021, the chemo clinic was closed and her appointment was pushed to 2/25/21. 

Yesterday, Allison had scans completed to determine the effectiveness of the chemo.  We are thrilled to report that there was a 30% reduction in the cancer and no spreading of the disease.  While this is exceptional news and a huge blessing, Allison is going to start her next round of 12 chemo treatments on 3/11/21.  She will receive new scans after the 6^th treatment.  Through all this, Allison has continued to work and care for her children, which is another huge blessing.  Allison’s brother and sister-in-law, who live in Memphis, have provided angelic help with her children by taking them on the weekends, so Allison can rest and recuperate from the treatments.  As a side note, the 3 younger children will be with her for the next few weekends, so dates will be added to the meal train for those times.   

So what is Allison doing in her spare time, you might ask? Well, other than being nauseated, and very achy and sore… Allison has learned to play Hand and Foot (the card game, not the disease).  She is playing the game with friends and virtually.  Because she is playing virtually, it is giving her the ability to spank said friends when playing in person.  She also watches Netflix and Hulu, so if you know if any great shows, please share!
