I just wanted to let you all know that I am having surgery tomorrow, May 20th at 1 PM at San Jose Regional Medical Center with Dr. Jeffrey Anderson who is associated with UCSF. I feel very confident in him performing my surgery and while the second opinions I received do not advise me getting the surgery, I feel like I have exhausted all of my options, and I’m cautiously optimistic that this will help me walk again and take away my pain. He will be putting a rod and screws in my hip to stabilize the joint where he thinks there is a possible impending fracture in the femoral neck. I may have pain due to the previous cancerous lesions there, but I’m willing to take the risk and go for surgery. Pat will be by my side supporting me through this. The plan as of now is to stay at the hospital for a few days to monitor my pain and see that I can walk. My mom will be helping watch Olivia.
Please pray for Pat and my mom as they will be my main caregivers. Pat took the whole week off to help me, so I could use more help in the following weeks. We love it if Olivia can have play dates during this time especially.
I lost my voice, most likely due to stress, please pray I get it back as it’s going to be incredibly frustrating not being able to talk, especially to the nurses or doctors.
If you want to help bring food, I’m really wanting lots of fruits and vegetables right now, especially microgreens, salads, papayas, smoothies etc.
