Alan saw the surgeon again today to get the stitches removed from the cyst/lump biopsy on his side. He also got an xray and CT scan.
CT scan showed that the fluid from the infection is about the same as before all the antibiotics. Maybe a tiny bit less but no significant change for the better. So he's getting new antibiotics, again through his hickman. These new meds will run 24/7 through a pump. Bring on the fanny pack. A nurse will come by tomorrow to teach Alan how to give them to himself.
The surgeon said that they will most likely have to go back in to open him up and try to clean out the infection once more. The stitches that were supposed to be removed today are going to stay in until the operation. No date has been set yet for this surgery to take place.
No news yet on the results of the xray for hopefully some answers to the rib pain.
