6 years!!! WOW!!! What an amazing journey!!! Thank YOU, LORD, for giving us Katey in our family. From the time that we found out that she had cancer, we asked why, and at the time, it was hard for us to fathom YOUR purpose behind it. But we trusted in YOU. We had faith in YOU. We surrendered to YOU. Without her cancer, our family would still be in splinters and would not be as strong in our relationship with YOU. Thank YOU, LORD.

Sounds like you had about as busy a summer as anyone could have. Mount Rushmore is one of the few places that I would like to go but haven't been yet. Is it true that if you go around behind the mountain you can see the presidents' other sides as they bend over to stick their heads through the rock? I never really thought it was.

Wow -- it has been awhile since I've visited Katey's page, and of all days, I pick today, her 11th birthday!! Happy Birthday Katey!! WOW 11 years old. I pray that every thing is going great their for you. It has been gloomy out today. Please pray for LaKota's Grandma, my mom, she was diagnosed with a tumor on her lung,and the doctor said it looks like cancer. I did set up a web page for her on the caring bridge, it is.....shirleysizer

While you were in Florida, we were in WISCONSIN!! We had some bonechilling time, too, but on a different kind of rollercoaster...sledding down hills!! The kids had a ball sledding down the side of an island onto the frozen lake. We did that a couple of different days, ice skated, hiked a little bit and enjoyed the cozy cottage my parents have. We had lots of hot cocoa and hot tea and stayed warm with Carhartts and other snow gear for 5 days. It was just starting to get warmer as we left for home on Jan 2nd. We had a party for the New Year with other families at the same resort area, too. That was a lot of fun.
Sorry you were so cold in Florida, but I bet you were at least 40 degress warmer there than at home! Glad to know things are going well! We'll talk to you soon, I hope! Too bad about the Packers not getting to the SuperBowl. Wish Brett Favre could have had that last hurrah this year...I wonder if he'll be back next year?

Just dropped in to say hi and happy start of school!!! We bought a horse and I am going out a few times a week to work with her. I'll be riding again soon after a fall early this summer. I haven't ridden almost all summer because of it, but will be back on this fall. Alex is doing great, just had another clear CT, so we are just awesome!

hey thanks for the link to camp!! I was just searching for it -- I found it last year, but couldn't find it tonight. Hmmm something told me to come visit Katie's site :-) Great seeing you guys, although we didn't get much of a chance to chat. The kids are always so happy to be back at camp with their friends. It really is an amazing experience for them. I hope Colin and Katie will get to see each other over the course of the 2 weeks. It is kind of strange having them in different age groups. But I know they are both having a blast. We won't be able to go this weekend -- family reunion in Iowa. Give Colin a hug if you happen to see him :-) We are empty nesters this week -- the girls are visiting my parents all week. Very strange indeed. We are enjoying it though. :-) See you at pick up!
