My goodness - what a lot he had to go through - and how hard for you to go through so much pain and heartache. I know, through my faith, that he is with you, he is with others, helping them cross over, and God probably has this one doing a lot more!

You have blessed me with your friendship, even if it is on Facebook, it is special. Thank you.

Prayers for you and your family every time I think of Maxie.
I'm going through the motions of life myself, day after day, with a numb heart. Rich and I recorded all the memories we could think of in a notebook shortly after our daughter died (likes and dislikes). Every time I read these pages a smile comes to my heart, there are many memories that I have forgotten too. Maybe you could think back with the family and write down everything you can remember about Maxie while you still have many memories left. Hugs to all of you.

As I add my entry,I do so through tear- blurred eyes,so forgive me now for any typos that may follow...While I was never fortunate enough to have met Maxie in person,I feel as though I've always known him, given the fact that his wonderful Mother,Christy and I have been friends for most of my(our) lives. And while our lives have taken us in different directions & locations,we have never lost touch.Maxie was an amazing child from an equally amazing family...the Lagourney Family and Maxie fought a courageous battle, which, tragically,Maxie lost.He was a truly beautiful young man, whose presence is and will always be felt, and greatly missed. My love goes out to the Lagourney Family, and of course,to Maxie. Sincerely & with all my love,Michelle Hinson

Dear Julie,Chris,Christi and Robert,

On this Thanksgiving Day my mind keeps going back to Maxie and how brave and wise he was. I am so thankful to have had him and all of you in my life. Maxie was my first child to "Angel" and he is still very much a part of my heart. My "Maxie" tree in NC gets taller and prettier every year and is a constant reminder of the life of such a wonderful boy.

Have a HAPPY and BLESSED THANKSGIVING!!

It is Kristen the long lost girl from western ny that had my sister bring you dinner and Maxie his moose when he was sick. I tried to access this site and was unable to find it for about late 2007 so I have been out of the loop. I typed in Maxie Moose on Google and the guestbook entry about his build a bear going to Hannah came up! What a wonderful idea! It brought tears to my eyes to see you wrote a specific journal entry to me back in Feb 2008 and I was unable to read it until now. I am sorry to hear that Hannah passed. This disease is so horrible and I hate that so many lives have been affected by it! I was at mcv about 3 weeks ago with my sister who brought you dinner. She was diagnosed the week prior to that with uterine cancer so we drove down to be with her for her hysterectomy. They luckily were able to remove all the cancer. When we were at the hospital she talked about Maxie and showed me where she had to go to deliver his special dinner and moose. I am sorry to hear Christy is not well...I will keep you all in my prayers and I am bookmarking this site so that I can stay connected! Please know that I think of you all often!! Love, Kristen

Dear Julie,Chris,Christy and Robert,

I read your latest post and I am sorry that your plans have not been possible for another house. I agree that the housing market is not conducive to selling much of anything.

I am glad to hear that you, Julie, are feeling better.

Have you considered calling a local college and asking if there is a student who would volunteer to help tutor Robert a few hours a week. It might help if you could find someone outside the family to help him. Perhaps his teacher could recommend someone. Robert is such a sweet boy and I hope you can find the help with school that he needs. Give him a HUG from me.

Christy, I hope you get feeling better soon. You have had such a difficult time with your health. You are in my prayers.

I think of you often and continue to pray for all of you.

Thank you for visiting Rock's page and leaving a comment. Also, thank you for leaving a link to Maxie's page. What a brave young man. When my son was first diagnosed with leukemia, all I could ask was "why?" and once I started reading all these caring bridge sites, I knew that his diagnosis was not a punishment for something we as parents might have done, but that he had been chosen to have challenges so we all will gain strength each day. It's not just him that grows stronger and more courageous, but anyone that is touched by any of these kids. So, thank you and Maxie for adding to our strength.

Dear Julie and Family,

What a sweet and generous thing to do. I know Hannah will love "Maxie Moose" as much as Maxie did. I am sure you will find homes for the other animals too. I'm sure Maxie is smiling down on your efforts and he is happy to share with others because that's the kind of boy he is. I still have my "Maxie Moose" and I always think of Maxie when I see him.
Of course I also think of him when I see the "Maxie Tree" I planted in NC in his memory.

Take good care of yourself, my friend. I am so glad to see that you still have the ChemoAngels site on your page. I was so proud to be Maxie's "Angel".

julie, im so happy christy is o.k! what a scare. Robert has been through alot. the school should work with him. Our little guy was having trouble in kindergarten.. he is taking it over this year. But I wanted him tested to see if there was a problem.. and there was.. so he gets 1 on 1 help.. and has made HUGE progress. they are even suprised how he has cought on.. He will go to first grade and get help there is he needs it. Your school district has to test him if you ask.. its free! then he can get a peronal tutor at school! ask about it. anyway Good luck on the diet. I know you can do it! im working on that too. Dr pepper is hard to get off of. LOL i love it to!

Dear Julie and Family,

Thanks for the update on Christy. I have been praying for her and I am glad that it turned out well.

Robert will catch up. He is a smart boy. He has just been through so much. He is a wonderful boy! Maybe you can ask at his school if the have a mentor program. If so, they can provide him a mentor who can help him in many ways, with school work and self esteem. If not, you might try the Big Brother Program in your area. They do wonderful work with kids. Just some suggestions that I hope helps.

I wish you well on your "group diet". I think that is wonderful that all of you are doing it together so you can encourage each other along. Ken and I have been on a diet for about 8 weeks now. I have lost 17 pounds and Ken has lost about 20. We go to Weight Watchers and love their program. I know I feel better.

Wishing you all the best in the coming weeks.

Love and Prayers.

julie, im sorry for all that continues to go on.. i love the ornament of maxie... So many people think and pray for you all, but are so busy and cant remember our own dates to things. let alone someone elses dates for things. Im sorry.. Its not like we dont care.. Its just the way life is. i feel so bad for robert... He is left with all this pain and instablity. its heartbreaking.. Its like Christy has given up on her child that is alive... she has to take care of herself for him.... Im at a loss as to why she isnt getting better or getting help.. its so frustration watching the self destruction... its ruining and changing roberts life. It makes me angry actually. Its child abuse in a different form.. sure he is loved but that isnt all it takes... its been a long time.. You all need to live for robert if you cant or dont want to for yourself. I care you know I do.. But hearing of all robert has gone through and continues to go through is heartbreaking. Im sorry if this is harsh.. Im so sad for that little boy!

What a lovely picture you sent to me of Robert on his first day of school this year.... His grin has not changed one bit since the picture of him and Maxie together. Julie,
Last night in the pouring down rain I had to leave to go pick up one of my children at a July 4th party. As I was pulling down my driveway, I slammed on my brakes because there was a box turtle there in my tire tracks. I stopped just short of hitting the durn thing, hopped out and placed it in the back of the car. When I got home, I got out the brightest nail polish I could find, and wrote "MAXIE" in big bright letters on its back, then set it loose where I had found it. I don't know what it was... I haven't even been to your page in awhile, but something told me to write Maxie's name on it and to set it free. I always think of him when I see a turtle. I just had to come and tell you this story today.
I'm sorry to hear how tough things are for you all, but I know you have angels watching over you, especially Stan and Maxie, and when things get hard you have to think of them. Hang in there, and know there are still people like me out here thinking of you, and remembering..... always.

Julie, and christy Im thinking of you so much lately and robert! My gosh how frightening what I was reading about how sick he was with the flu. and the seizure. I would definately leave the Dr you had at the hospital! we had 4 children ages 5 and 6 die from flu like symptoms in febuary in indiana! one was my neighbors grandchild. just horrific!

update me on christy if you can. I noticed a comment you made in cheyennes questbook about raising robert alone. and the stress this has had on you not being able to fix it for them! Im so sorry julie! I cant believe its been 3 yrs since sweet maxie died! we planted 9 trees for maxie. only 1 didnt make it! it was an evergreen tree! we will plant another one! Email me to catch up! Im glad someone is interested in your cabin! im praying for you!

Hi all,

I just came in from outside checking Maxie's tree, I was so afraid that this weather would damage it, but it pulled through just fine. It started Friday night and continually snowed or frozen rain until last night, with temps down to 28. The small trees had sooo much ice on them, thought they would break. Cheyenne's garden was soooo beautiful the day before, everything blooming, all the trees and bushes lush green and growing... Have no idea what to expect tomorrow....

Hope your Easter is a good one. Hug Robert for us and tell everyone hello.

I just saw the both of you on pogo and love to check the profiles...in doing so I read about Maxie! How brave you are, but without choices. I told you about my son Dan. He is my first born and my "rock"...I refuse that this will take him from me. Actually I hate the cancer, but so want to take the hurt and pain he had to endure. He has crones desease so some of the chemo creates problems here. I am in San Antonio and saw that Maxie was born in Dallas if I remember correctly. I cried throught reading and enjoying the pictures. My favorite song as become Garth Brooks "The Dance" How blesses and how much richer our lives because we've had them! I'm glad to hear that Robert is feeling better and that you have changed doctors. A fresh begining for him is best. I hope this new Doctor will look at the facts and NOT make assumptions. Robert deserves the best car he can get.

Good luck on selling the cabin.

Sending you all love and prayers.

Dear Julie I know how tough the holidays were. THey sure don't get easier. This was the 4th holiday without Dustin and it hurt just as much as the first.

To all the "Dicks" in the world you must not of lost a child or grandchild or you wouldn't be passing judgment on this family. If you don't like what someone writes on a caringbridge page then why are you here.

Know that you and yours are in my prayers. I lost my son,Jeff Jarvis, Dec.9,2005. At the time i was in hospital for 2mo. 1 of them in ICU, iwas on the floor ,but still very sick, when they told me my baby boy had died. He was 40, but still my baby and always will be. They taped the funeral for me. I still think he's going to walk in the door. It is so hard! Please keep me in your prayers.

I'm sorry that a poster felt the need to write what he did...SHAME ON HIM. Its also a shame that the poster below me felt the need to discolor Maxie's pages with disgusting inneundos. Think what one will but why stoop that low?

Julie, Chris, Christy and Robert; You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Julie and family,
So, what's up with "dick" and his entry?? LOL, Christy, I loved your response and I totally agree with you, his name suits him without a doubt and he need not come here and make negative comments. Maxie WAS let down by MakeAWish, you all were when it comes right down to it.

But I really came here to say hello and see how you were all doing. Julie, you have your times of blues I know, but I'm glad to see you are feeling a bit better. Hang in there as you always do. There are many of us out here still pulling for you all. And that cabin will sell, the right time and the right buyer just hasn't come along yet. I wish there was a way financially for you to keep it because I know you've had some happy times there, and the thought of you all being happy, no matter how brief, makes me smile. And Maxie and Stan no doubt want you to be happy also!

Love to you all....

Actually, Dick, I think you are wrong. Maxie and his family WAS owed something.

You seem to forget that the people at Make A Wish aren’t generously reaching into their own pocket to grant children their wish. They are collecting money from individuals with the promise that they will make a sick child’s dream come true. Not only did they owe this to Maxie, but they also owe it to the many wonderful people that donate hoping to make things a little brighter for families struggling with a horrible situation. The way this case was handled borders on criminal fraud. So maybe you should think it through before you post your “high and mighty” criticism on someone’s guestbook.

Christy and Julie: Don’t let the “Dicks” of the world get to you. Some of us have been here a while and we know the truth. Don’t worry about the opinions of someone that doesn’t know the story.

Hi Julie:

My heart goes out to all the Children battling Cancer and to their Families that have to stand aside and helplessly watch the suffering. We have a Family in our Village that had a child go into remission twice but finaly at age 13 it finally proved too much and he was ready to go just last year. He too loved to play with legos and won first prize at our fall fair with his last mechanized creation.

I will tour Maxie's pages again. Love from Midge

Wow, your name suits you. Please don't read my sons and family's page if you don't like what you read. I am leaving this entry up to show people how cruel people are.

Are you still complaining about Make A Wish? It's getting old. You act as if they owe you something -- NOT.

Dear Julie, Robert, Christy and Chris,

I hope your Christmas was good. I'm glad to hear Christy is able to work full time now.

I had my wallet stolen a few days before Christmas and had to shut down/cancel all my credit cards, bank account, etc. I haven't received my replacement cards and account numbers yet, so am in "limbo" money wise. I hope it gets straightened out soon. Someone tried to access my bank account from an ATM in a nearby town. That's scarey!

I hope that the New Year will be a good one for all of you.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I bet you are right, Spring will be the time to sell the cabin. Good luck with that.

Sending love and prayers.
